Christian multi-nave temple with a central nave higher than the aisles and having windows over the roofs of the aisles. Basically, the basilica has a longitudinal arrangement, divided into a central part, that is a central nave and side aisles, one, two or even three on each side. The aisles are covered with separate roofs and the central part is higher than the aisles, which allows the interior to be illuminated by the upper windows. All the aisles are separated by walls, pillars or supporting columns.
