The vault used in late gothic, where the ribs are removed and the vaults edges have sharp borders.In this way, surfaces was made up of numerous small fields on which the light created an interesting decorative effect.This type of vault was first used in 1471 at Albrechtsburg Castle in Meißen by the builder Arnold of Westphalia.Later they spread in Saxony, then in the Czech Republic, Moravia and the present northern Poland.
