The renaissance, defensive castle in Divín was built by Imrich Balass in the second half of the seventeenth century on the site of an earlier, fifteenth-century building. Later, from 1686 until 1945, the castle was owned by the Zich family.
The castle is surrounded by defensive walls with four massive bastion – towers. Inside there is a two-story, L-shaped mansion.
The newly renovated castle now houses the Museum of the History of the village of Divín. The first exhibition is devoted to the history of the manor and the Zich family. In the other two halls you can see the exhibition of the history of the village, from the beginning of existence to the eighteenth century. The last two exhibitions of the museum include hunting trophies from the area and old photographs from Divín.
